The HIANZ Silvercard™ elevated work platform (EWP) training is an NZQA accredited course, designed to ensure that operators have adequate knowledge and competency to use EWPs safely.

 

Attendees gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills in:

• Types of EWP

• EWP compliance requirements

• Health and safety legislative requirements

• Hazard identification, risk assessment and controls

• Safe operation of EWP, including pre and post operational checks

• Fall arrest harness use

• Emergency procedures

On successful completion of the course, attendees receive an EWP Operator ID Card ("Silvercard") and the relevant NZQA Unit Standards.

The following NZQA Unit Standards are achieved through this course:

23966 – Describe types of EWP, and legislative requirements for their use (Theory)
23960 – Assess the worksite, prepare and operate a scissor lift EWP
23962 – Assess the worksite, prepare and operate a self-propelled boom lift EWP

The following NZQA Unit Standards are also offered by prior arrangement only:

23961 – Assess the worksite, prepare and operate a truck mounted EWP
23963 – Assess the worksite, prepare and operate a trailer mounted EWP
23964 – Assess the worksite, prepare and operate a vertical lift EWP
